tiktok logistics cost

Tik Tok Shop provides logistics services in some markets, and cross-border sellers can use the logistics providers provided by Tik Tok for sellers.

①Local sellers

Merchants arrange logistics by themselves, and do not involve the platform charging merchants for logistics fees.

②Cross-border sellers

If the merchant does not provide the UK VAT number to the platform, the logistics fee charged by the platform includes VAT=0%;

If the merchant provides the platform with a VAT number and is verified to be valid, the logistics fee charged by the platform includes VAT=20%. Merchants can use it to deduct the tax payable, and if the deduction cannot be completed, they can continue to apply for tax refund, which does not constitute an additional cost to the merchant.

In theory, as long as cross-border merchants fill in their UK VAT number on the e-commerce platform, the e-commerce platform will issue an invoice for cross-border merchants’ freight + 20%VAT. The charging method is to deduct the fee from the merchant’s account to be divided according to the logistics fee + VAT rate.

tiktok delivery process

①Confirm the order

After the buyer places an order, the seller should check the order in time to check whether the goods sold are in stock. Ensure normal delivery

②Packaging

Choose the right package size and type for the buyer’s purchase.

Packaging rules:

Pack the goods carefully to minimise the risk of damage to the goods in transit;

Check the latest terms, conditions and policies of the logistics provider in a timely manner to confirm that the goods can be shipped and only the goods allowed by the logistics provider;

Do not pack any merchandise not ordered by the buyer into a package sent to the buyer;

Shall not send any information to the buyer, request the buyer to provide positive buyer reviews, initiate returns, or other inappropriate information for the purpose of obtaining benefits;

No unauthorized marketing or promotional material, such as: brochures, display materials, price tags and/or other unrelated stickers, may appear on any item;

If there are special packaging requirements for liquids, sharp items (such as tableware), fragile items, perishable items, textiles, hazardous materials, batteries, etc., the relevant requirements of the logistics provider should be followed;

If any items require special handling, notify the courier before shipping the item.

Some items may need to be packed in an outer carton.

When using cartons, all of the following requirements must be met:

Carton and packaging materials (e.g. plastic, void filler) should adequately protect items in transit;

Use of unacceptable packaging materials may result in rejections and refunds;

Correctly select the size of the carton to ensure that the remaining space is the smallest after the item is put into the carton; (under the premise of not damaging the item) as much as possible to pack multiple items in one carton to maximize space utilization;

③ Label the package

All shipments must have a shipping label, which should contain the following information:

Buyer’s name and full postal address (including postal code);

Buyer’s order number;

Seller’s full name and address;

The shipping label shall not contain hyperlinks, QR codes, contact information or information unrelated to the order from other platforms;

④ Hand over the package to the logistics provider

When using the “shipped by seller” mode, the seller needs to complete the packaging and contact the logistics provider to pick up the product. After the logistics provider’s pickup (also known as “package pickup”) is completed, the seller needs to update the order status to “shipped”, and enter an accurate and valid shipment tracking ID and logistics provider name in the seller center.

When using “Shipped by TikTok”, packaging must be completed within 72 hours of placing the order, then the order status is updated to “Ready to Ship”. After that, the logistics provider will be notified and pick up the package from the seller within 24 hours. After the package is shipped, the courier will update the order status to “shipped” in the system, which will be reflected in the “Manage Orders” panel in Seller Central.

⑤ Pay attention to the status of the package

The logistics provider is responsible for the delivery of the package from delivery to confirmation. Pay close attention to the location and final state of the package at this point. Finally, once the courier updates the package status, the order status will be updated to “Delivered”.

In the “TikTok Shipping” mode, the logistics provider updates the order status to “Delivered” after obtaining the recipient’s signature or other receipt confirmation from the buyer.
